Sump Pump Enclosure

Hi Dad,
I worked on the enclosure for the sump pump today and wondering what advice you might give me at this point. Anything you would change? Add?

I built the enclosure to be the height of a typical counter, about 35 inches I think. From what you see now I was thinking of covering it in plywood on the two sides and the top. Then it could be painted. Maybe down the road I'll get a piece of granite for the top of it. Also, on one side, I didn't put a stud in the middle. Do you think I should change that?
