Field
The 2011 K2 Backroads Marathon promises to be a humble affair with at least five runners competing to step to the top of the K2 podium. The field/support crew includes:
· A former Olympics Trials qualifier;
· Some of the top Masters runners in the state of Michigan;
· The best young saxophonist in the world;
· The 2012 MHSAA Girls XC Champions from Dexter, Michigan;
· The 2012 MHSAA Girls XC Champions from Dexter, Michigan;
· The best spouse/parent/friend cheering section anywhere;
· A couple of dudes who used to live in Markley Hall and paint houses.
Fees
The first running of the K2 26.2 includes a special feature for all: no entry fee! This will likely change in the future as the event grows in popularity . . . like Boston.
Route
Three segments:
#1 - out five miles from the house, back five miles to the house

#3 - Everything culminates on the Dave Chomet Signature 10K Course
The course will be marked with some wooden stakes and signage. For anyone who wants to see the course ahead of time, be at Kev's house by 7:45 AM and we'll take a tour.

Schedule of Events
7:30 Arrival begins at Kev and Steph’s house: 48337 Red Run Drive, Canton, MI. Look for the giant snowman and other race headquarter-like structures. Coffee available.

8:10 Mandatory meeting for all runners and race support staff

· Aid stations at mile marks: 3.1, 5, 6.9, 10, 13.1, 15, 16.9, 20, 23.1, and finish. Gatorade, water, and M&Ms available. Please bring your favorite nutrition.
